Healthy Sauté Cooking Method

Healthy Sauté is a cooking method that allows you to have the flavor of sautéed vegetables without using heated oils. Studies have found that exposing oils to high heat can result in the production of oxidized compounds and free radicals detrimental to your health. That's why we add oil to our recipes after cooking is complete, which not only maintains the health-promoting nutrients in the oil, but actually produces a much richer flavor.

How To Healthy Sauté

Heat the recommended amount of broth (indicated in the recipe) in a stainless steel skillet over medium heat. Once the broth begins to steam, add vegetables, cover, and cook for the recommended amount of time—usually from 3 to 5 minutes. Depending on the type of vegetable you are cooking, the recipe may ask that it be cooked uncovered for a few minutes before serving to eliminate excess liquid. Toss with Mediterranean Dressing ingredients after removing from heat.
